The only way to secure real peace is through the path of sacrifice

Each one of us must try and grow spiritually. Behold the omniscience of the Lord! He has bestowed every individual with duties according to his or her own capacity. He gives liberation when the duties are performed correctly and thereby the state of fulfillment is obtained. Knowing our past, present and future, He gives us human birth according to our Karmas and helps us grow through such births and lives. How can we find suitable words of praise for the Lord who knows the life and stature of His innumerable souls? Such a Lord has incarnated amongst us and is guiding us. Can we miss such a golden opportunity? Let us be devoted to Him, surrender to Him, and make our lives fruitful. Shouldn’t we remove our attachment when we have the Gita and its teacher amongst us?

Immortality is only attained through sacrifice. When we sacrifice worldly life for God, the effects of Karma disappear.

We just perform the actions that destiny presents before us as duty. This delusion inhibits us from carrying out our assigned tasks, and can take many forms. We may feel that others’ Dharma is easier, but in reality it is not so. Our Swadharma alone is best suited to us. Our present situation is solely to do with our past Karmas and as such is the best path for us. We can grow spiritually only by discharging them properly.

Practice small acts of sacrifice and see for yourself the happiness that you derive.

We protect our physical wealth with great care. We deposit our money in the bank and keep our valuables in the safety deposit boxes. We take great caution to protect them even though they are only transient in nature. If we care so much for these temporary things how much more care should we take to protect our permanent spiritual wealth?

Sacrifice thrives through Prema and Prema grows through sacrifice.

Whosoever worships the lotus-eyed God, who is the Lord of the entire universe; immortal, luminescent and stable he will never face defeat.

The quality of our devotion is a direct reflection of the state of our mind.

I consider the Bhagavad Gita and Mahatma Gandhi’s, My Experiments With Truth as my two eyes. I read them with utmost interest and put what I have learned into practice. I can say that to some extent I have succeeded in my task. However, I will carry on with my spiritual practices until my last breath; let my success be judged by others. Our Sadhana should not cease. Any moment illusion may engulf us. Moreover, if I stop performing Sadhana, thinking that I have succeeded it will only indicate egoism and not surrender. Who are we to determine whether we have won or not? Who are we to judge our skill? God alone is the one who can decide. When we submit everything to God, it leads to complete surrender. We should lead our lives in a systematic manner, slowly turning towards Him and then finally placing ourselves at His Lotus feet.

Internal worship is much more effective than showy ritual.

Sarva Bootha Hitha Priyaayai, the one who wants immortality for all beings. What is the innate desire of all living beings? It is to progress on the path of spirituality and eventually attain immortality. Our welfare lies in learning to detach from our own body. Swami said to me, ”You are the one who feeds these thoughts to all living beings. Your are the one who guides humanity on the path of spirituality to experience nearness to God. You receive God’s grace and give it for the welfare of humanity.”
Ignorance is the basic cause of all our troubles. To find peace of mind and live a comfortable life, we must first remove this ignorance. The first precept is unwavering faith in God. We should strive to reach God who is the Supreme Reality, the One who exists for the welfare of all.

Sunday, May 25, 2014

Morning to night if we dedicate our feelings to God, it is akin to performing 24 hour pooja.

We should act by feeling the presence of God in every being. ‘Mamaivamso jeevaloke jeevabootha sanathanaha’. A spark of God is present not only in all individuals but also throughout the whole of creation. Therefore, we should do good to all, at all times.

Saturday, May 24, 2014

Who can limit the infinite space? Who can place conditions on the boundless ocean? In the same way, all-pervasive Prema has no rules or regulations.

Physical wealth is perishable, but spiritual wealth is permanent. We should not be selfish. We should strive to work for the common good. Then God is pleased to help us. This is the only lesson passed on to us by our Avatars, sages, saints and renunciates. As the formless God is present in every one of us, we have to learn to see Him in all. God is ‘Sarva Bootha Antharaathma’, the indweller of all beings. The Gita teaches us this Supreme Truth. Ah! The more and more I think of the Gita; the more my eyes fill with tears. We should thank Arjuna for being an instrument in bringing about this incomparable book. I am also personally grateful to him and thank him on behalf of the entire world. Like Bhagiratha, who brought the heavenly Ganges down to earth, Arjuna brought this holy Gita. They deserve to be worshipped. We should be grateful to both of them.

One should develop a mind that will not be touched by anybody or anything

Loka Kshema Samrakshakaayai, means the protector of the welfare of the world. What is good for the world? Everyone should acquire spiritual awakening! Why do we lead this life? Why are we born? Are we born to die again and again? No, this is not the purpose. We are born to free ourselves from the never-ending cycle of birth and death. That alone is the reason we have taken birth. How is it possible to attain this liberation? It is possible through the constant performance of Sadhana.

We can realise Truth when we remove the thought "I am the body".

Bhagavan says Loka Shoka Nirmoolyayai, which means the remover of sorrows and sadness. We have to eradicate our unhappiness. How? Through reading spiritual books, pondering over their meaning and by putting into action whatever we have learned, it will be removed.
No doubt, we can read, recite or memorize any of the Gita’s slokas. What is the use of this mastery? We have to try putting into practice what we have learned. It will surely free us.

Sacrifice is the key to Truth

The Gita tells us about the impermanent nature of the body. The body alone dies but the soul is eternal. Why should we worry so much about these perishable bodies? If we lose this one we will get another. Our present relatives will not be coming with us after our death. Why should we be so very attached to them who are only transient? This attachment is the cause for Vishaadam, sorrow or confusion. Through deep devotion towards God, we can overcome this sadness.

Tuesday, May 20, 2014

We should only speak about those things that we, ourselves, have put into practice.

We have taken birth in this body as per the good and evil deeds in our past births. The Gita was born to emphasize the path of righteousness leading to liberation from repeated birth. The Gita leads us on the path to the sweet blissful nectar called GOD.

When we tolerate the troubles, while performing our deeds without faltering in our duty, it becomes tapas (spiritual practice).

From the book Vasantha Sai Satcharitha

This letter, which is only for You,
Becomes the wind of Sathya Yuga.
My call which never ends, thunder
The wisdom that arises, the lightning.
My tears are the water."

"Letter, letter, letter,
though your letters
You change God.
God is witness
Witness God become
Prema God.

Feelings, feelings, feelings,
Through your feelings
You change the world.
Without Pralaya
Kali Yuga becomes Sathya Yuga."

Sunday, May 18, 2014

It is only through the constant practice of trying to transform oneself that truth is revealed

We must perform sadhana with full effort and attain God. Everything else in this world is perishable. Whatever one earns in life is not permanent. Money post, relatives, none of these things can be taken with you when you leave this world. If this is realized clearly, then you will be greatly benefitted. This rule can be followed with any form of God and you will attain Him. This is what Swami shows and declares through the Sarva Dharma symbol. God is one; all religions are the same. God is in the heart of all as the Indweller, the Antaryami. He is there in the state of Witness.

Mukthi will only be attained by sacrificing everything.

We think that ananda comes from outside. We think that ananda comes from husband, wife, children, family, money, house, car, status, and all. We run after them. However this Ananda only lasts for a few days, it is not permanent.
God is unseen. However, we can see the creation. Therefore, we feel that we get ananda from whatever we can see in front of our eyes. This is not so. We can only obtain ananda from inside. God is inside. This ananda is reflected outside in whatever we see. We think that Ananda comes from those things and so we suffer in the cycle of birth and death. Really, ananda is inside. That is the Atma Ananda. Atma is verily god, the indweller. God is imperishable and immortal, yet these worldly objects are perishable. Therefore, search for God inside. Only then, you will find the real Ananda that is within each of us.
I desire God’s physically nearness. I am not satisfied with any other Ananda. I thought I would only get ananda being in God’s physical proximity. Why did I have these different feelings? It is because I want to create a new world. This desire for God’s nearness is giving new creation.

Wisdom is incomplete if it has not been put into practice

Your each and every desire creates you. It makes your many facets. You are like the sculptor who chisels a statue. Each thought of yours is a chisel shaping you and becomes your next birth. I have only one desire, ‘I must attain Swami’. Thus, my every thought chisels His form. My tears and cries chisel each of His limbs. Thus, Swami now comes in a new form. This is true romance. I have never seen Swami close up. He has never spoken one word to me, nor have I ever touched Him. Yet, I like Him only. I want Him. Swami and I see, talk and touch in meditation, but this is not the physical body, it is the divine body. It is Pure; it takes place in Pure Consciousness. This is not body consciousness. God and His Shakthi have no body consciousness; only divine consciousness. Shiva and Shakthi are two halves of One body. Shiva and Shakthi are present in the body of all and function as the Kundalini. When the two unite, it is the Jeevan Muktha state. Swami and I came here to demonstrate this and it is the reason why we suffer in separation. Yet, these are not lovers' pangs of separation; this is one
jeeva’s suffering in separation from God. The demonstration of this is Swami’s Avataric task. Yet, in ordinary human life, when this is experienced, it is called romance. It is based in feelings of lust; marriage takes place. This is like living a worldly drainage ditch life.

We must remember that even the good we do can be an obstacle to having the vision of the Lord.

Feelings are vital on our journey to reach God. It is feelings that are important to speak with God and to hear His voice. With pure feelings we can have the vision of Truth.

Wednesday, May 14, 2014

Our death, its place and time have already been decided. It will happen accordingly, nobody can change it.

This world is a great training center for all. We are born here to train ourselves in this way. If we have victory in our practice, we will not be born again. Maya will not touch us and then all becomes God. This is new Creation. Everywhere is Sathya Sai Mayam. As I saw all maya, as Mayava, the entire creation now becomes Mayava. In Swami's and my Nadi, all call Swami 'Mayava'. God creates maya tricks and makes everyone in the world fall in. Now enough! Awake and come out from maya! We must grab hold of God, who is the source of the maya and not let go

Tuesday, May 13, 2014

Our thoughts and feelings become the deep impressions that decide our next birth.

Each and every one of us has emerged from Brahman and must merge back into Him. We can attain Him through the path of Prema. It is said in the Upanishads that after attaining Atma jnana, the vision of light, one should go beyond this light. The realization of truth means vision of light. First one sees the vision of light within. Then when he sees the outer world, he realizes that the same light has pervaded all. This entire universe is verily God. He alone is everything.

Monday, May 12, 2014

Our unfulfilled aspirations, desires and attachments continue in the next birth.

Sunday, May 11, 2014

Divert all your feelings towards God. Do you feel angry? Then feel angry with God saying, "why did I not get your darshan?" Tell Him your feelings.

Saturday, May 10, 2014

You should direct all feelings towards God These will bestow good fruits. These alone will liberate you.

Nothing in this world can satisfy you, except GOD!

Only spiritual life is not boring. We must acquire the wisdom that God alone is permanent and all other things are transient. Once you acquire this wisdom, it is enough. Then spiritual sadhana will not ‘bore’ you. It will be full of joy. The mind finds out new ways to connect with God. You will not be aware that the time is passing. New gates of wisdom will open. Many obstacles may arise on the path of sadhana, but the mind is never bored. One continues on the path strongly determined to attain God.
Mukthi Nilayam is one example. How many obstacles come in the way and we suffer. Still, our mind will never leave God. From dawn to dusk, we write wisdom, talk about it and have satsang. We do not know how the time passes. Morning we awake, then night comes. We have no boredom. We cheerfully walk on the journey to God. In the world, days and years are the same everywhere. Worldly people are bored so they often change their actions. Ours remain the same because our aim is only to attain Swami.

Root of all feelings is the sense of touch. The basis for touch feeling is the body and the body results from birth

My mouth has spoken only truth, only of the glories of the Lord, nothing else.
My skin has not touched anyone other than Swami. Skin means touch feeling. My feelings have touched only God, nothing else.
My nose knows only the divine fragrance, nothing else.
My eyes have seen only God, nothing else.
My ears have heard only about God, nothing else.

Thursday, May 8, 2014

You are creating your life over and over again. Your feelings keep you in the cycle of birth and death.

Let this whole world
know this truth
Prakrithi is inside God!
Amma is inside Swami
A place no one can see!
No organisation can rule!
Very correct Amma!
Truth is perfect
It is as it is!
Your place inside Swami!

Wednesday, May 7, 2014

Desire only God. He alone is truth.

‘Just as the Earth bears the man who plunders her; it is good to bear those who wrong us’.

Tuesday, May 6, 2014

Following spiritual teaching in thought, word and deed leads to discrimination and wisdom. Mere bookish knowledge is useless.

Monday, May 5, 2014

On a journey, a family has many pieces of luggage. All share the load. It is not the same with karma. None can carry your karmic load for you.

It is for you, I am searching ...

From the time of birth your eyes did not see anything or anyone other than Me.
How much these eyes are troubling Me!
Your mouth did not speak about anyone other than Me.
How much this mouth is teasing Me!
I saw the beauty of your hands in your writing
I saw the beauty of your feet in your walk
I saw the beauty of your body in Sharira nivedan
It is for you I am searching in this illusory world.

Dispassion for the world destroys all desires and makes one empty.

Life is a market. In 1ife, giving and taking, bargaining and speculating, are part of the game. Life has its ups and downs, its profits and losses, its joys and sorrows, depreciations and appreciations and balance sheets. But the giving of Devotion (Bhakti) in exchange for Liberation (Mukthi) is the most powerful business of all.
The proof of the rain is the wetness of the ground; the proof of true devotion is the peace of mind that the aspirant has attained - the peace which protects him against the onslaught of fai1ures, the peace in which he is unruffled by 1oss and dishonor, the peace that does not disturb his mind with anger, hatred, jealousy, conceit and the 1ower passions, the peace which makes him feel tranquil, unconcerned and unattached under all circumstances and with all human natures. Know that you are the embodiment of that peace
Re1igion is a personal encounter of the individua1 with the Supreme. Each one comes from God, is of God, is Himself God. Each individual is a lovely flower in the garden of Allah. It is only in this wor1d that spiritual progress can be made.
Annihilation of ego and disso1ution of desire can be accomplished here and now, or else going and returning back to this transient world is sure …
God wants of you no big showy things. Offer Him your little gifts of love and He will accept them as His holy food.
The true devotee should be a good farmer. The farmer removes the thorny bushes and weeds; the devotee removes wasteful and wicked thoughts from the heart. The farmer plants, plows, waters, sows, manures and then fi1ls his granary with a rich harvest. The devotee plows the heart with good deeds, waters it with love, manures it with faith, plants the saplings of repetition of the Lord’s name (namasmaran), fences his Se1f with discipline and good company (satsang), and then reaps the harvest of wisdom (jnana)

Saturday, May 3, 2014

The maya of the world hides the truth. Realise the truth that the One appears as many.

The only method which you can adopt to escape from the coi1s of the mind is the cultivation of pure intelligence. This is the sum and substance of all spiritual discipline. And the intelligence gets cleansed of all partiality and prejudice, hatred and greed, only by the adoration of God through Love poured out to a1l the beings created by God and standing witness to His glory and beauty. Share love with a1l; earn the treasure of love, store it in your heart and invite all to share it.

Friday, May 2, 2014

As the gates of wisdom open one after another, we begin to see the golden light of truth.

Learn a lesson from the tree. When it is heavy with fruits it does not raise its head aloft in pride; it bends low, stoops, as if it does not take any credit for its accomplishment and as if it helps you to pluck the fruit. Learn a lesson from the birds. They feed those who cannot fly far; the bird relieves the itch of the buffalo by scratching it with its beak; they help and serve each other, with no thought of reward. How much more alert must man be, then, with his superior skills and faculties? Service is the best cure for egoism; so, engage in it to relieve pain and grief to the extent that you can. - Swami

One cannot merge in the ocean of Brahman until ignorance and desires are left behind
