Thought for the day
When the mind is conscious of the external world, it is caught in attachment

From the book Miracle May a

Chapter Two
Finger Touch

Once when I was in Kodaikanal, a woman told me, “Everyday I give a letter to Swami. When Swami takes my letter, He touches my fingers.”
I was very surprised. Swami takes a letter from her everyday! Why does He touch her fingers? Is it possible? Why does this woman talk in this way?
These thoughts are due to the dirt inside her; the impressions she has carried birth after birth. It is lustful thoughts alone that make her talk in this way about God! Though Swami’s finger touched her, she should think that it is the consoling touch of a father or a mother’s compassionate touch and feel grateful.
It is sinful to tell others that Swami takes a letter from you everyday ‘touching your fingers’. He is God God God.
In this age of Kali, women frequent the cinema, watch TV, read books and magazines that kindle worldly desire. They then talk connecting themselves with Swami.

Dassera  1st October 2006

Swami gave a speech in which He said,

… “Today, both ladies and gents stand in the middle of the road, gossiping. At the fag end of the Dwapara Yuga, Dharamaraja witnessed such a scene one day. He felt very unhappy and immediately called a meeting with his brothers. He expressed his anguish to them thus, “Oh! Bhima! Arjuna! Nakula! Sahadeva! The Kali Yuga begun yesterday. While I was taking a stroll in the city, I saw a lady talking to a man in public. I am sorry I cannot bear witness to such immoral behaviour…
Accordingly, the brothers left for their heavenly abode.”

In those days, it was considered wrong for a woman to talk in public with a man.
Seeing this behaviour, they realised that the Kali yuga must have started.

In my house, in the era of my grandmother and father, women never went out of the house. I also did not go out. I did not know anything about our neighbours. We followed strict discipline; my children also did not wander out of the house. My grandmother’s aunt who also lived us often used to say,

‘The lamps that adorn temple steps
Should not decorate doorsteps’

The house is the temple and the women are the lamps. They were taught that the lamps that adorn places of worship, should not decorate the doors opening onto the street. We grew up with these impressions. In His discourse Swami indicates the same.
In the days of old, it was considered wrong if a woman talked in the street with a man. Today, men and women walk along the road hand in hand. In those days, womanhood was glorified and safeguarded. This is why children of wisdom were born.

Why are we born in this world? What is the purpose of our birth? Are we born to die again and again? Our thoughts become the samskaras that push us into the cycle of birth and death. How many thousands of births have we taken in the many ages? Should we not escape from this cycle at least now?
Any woman who speaks about God, connecting herself to Him, in the way I refer to at the beginning of the chapter, should be considered wrong. Should we waste our sacred human birth?
Oh women! Get married, worship your own husband as God. How many women of chastity have lived in India? Worshipping your husband as God is a unique feminine quality. Nowadays women are seeing God as their husbands! One can follow the path of Madhura bhakthi thinking of God as the Beloved, as husband. Meera, Andal, Jayadeva and Gauranga followed this path. The Lord responded to their devotion.
But when God descends in human form as Avatar, it is not so easy to receive His response. The world will also not accept it. I have written about this in detail in the book, ‘Prema Sai part four, Man’s Cosmic Form’.
There I have said that if a bhaktha following the path of Madhura bhava wants to experience God’s feelings in response to her feelings, marriage must take place with the Avatar. Only then will the feelings from God will be accepted as dharmic; otherwise the world will not accept. One should become God’s wife according to the laws of dharma.
It is sinful to say, ‘Swami touched me. He takes letters from me to touch me’.

Oh woman! You won’t be able to wash away this sin even if you take a thousand births! Swami is the Poorna Avatar. Do not make Him the hero of your cinema story! How can you talk like this? From where does your courage come from? Are you talking in this way because the Poorna Avatar has come in human form, and is living like an ordinary man? Oh! Women! Oh people of the world! When will you understand this Poorna Avatar? He has come to redeem us from the cycle of birth and death. Instead of making use of Him you are slipping from the path. Time is passing quickly, your life will become wasted. Stop this foolish imagination and ask for the boon of immortality. Ask for wisdom.

If one wants to receive a response from God, for the feelings expressed through the path of Madhura bhava, then marriage is necessary.
A Gandharva marriage was necessary even for Radha and Krishna’s to express their feelings. I have written how Radha could receive Krishna’s darshan sparshan and sambarshan in her last moments only after their Gandharva marriage.  In His discourse, Swami said that in Dwapara Yuga, it was considered wrong if a woman was seen talking to a man in the street.
Now, in this age, the woman says quite openly, “Swami takes letters from me and touches my fingers.” Even your worldly magazines and books would not write connecting a woman with God in this way. Even those in the Stone Age would not have spoken thus! What is the need to touch God’s fingers secretly?

28th October 2006 Meditation

Vasantha: Swami I am writing about these women, why do they behave in this way? Please tell me.

Swami: Women have lost their feminine nature.
End of Meditation
Now let see about this.
Women are embodiments of the feminine power, the Shakthi. Yet, they are wasting their power due to lustful feelings. To be born a woman, is the highest human birth. Women have more capacity for spiritual practice than men. Men have more contact with the outside world; they become acquainted with many people. They need to go to many places. It is not the same for women. The family is their world. Their mind is focused only on the family. Women are naturally shy, timid and tender; they have a quiet and sathvic nature. Due to the impact of the Kali age, women’s nature has changed. They have developed manly qualities. It is for this reason they talk shamelessly connecting themselves with God.
Women generally feel shy to express affection openly. But today women are talking freely in this way. You may ask me, “You are also writing in this way, connecting yourself with God?” My feelings have been focused only on God from the time of my very birth. I aspired to marry God. I lived only in this thought. I did not express my feelings outside. It was Swami who revealed our relationship; yet has not granted me sparshan or sambarhan. Many sages have written about this in the naadis.
Swami does not belong to this world alone. He is the emperor of the fourteen worlds. He is the Lord of innumerable Universes. It is because He has descended in human form that people talk in this way.

Who can measure the Lord’s glories? Gods, goddesses and the celestial maidens are waiting to serve Him. What need does He have to touch your finger? It is all due to your dirty garbage lust filled thoughts! They make you think in this way. Swami blesses you according to the merits of your previous births. During darshan, He sometimes pats someone’s head; He taps others and touches their fingers. Should we see His action through our impure thoughts? If the Lord’s touch leads to mistaken notions, it is because of the lust gathered by you age after age.
A girl who has studied in Swami’s school is talking in this way! She also told me that Swami came in her dream and married her! Twice she has told me this!
I thought this would be a good subject for the book Miracle Maya, to help devotees with mistaken notions about Swami.

Our thoughts and imaginings come as dreams. If we think of Swami, we dream of Him. When we awake in the morning we realize there is no connection between the dream and our daily life.
This morning Eddy told me about a dream he had. He said me that he saw Swami and himself in different places; he couldn’t understand where they were and what they were doing. His dream shows that there is no connection with his daily life. It is our own desires and thoughts about Swami that come as dreams. It is reflection reaction resound. It does not have any connection with Swami. He is the Witness. At night while asleep we have dreams. In the same way, the experiences we have during the day are day dreams. This world is not real. The world we see in the daytime is also a dream. Dreams are created by the mind. Day dreams, night dreams, all is our imagination. The dreams we when asleep only last for a night. The waking dream lasts an entire lifetime!

In the book, ‘Heart to Heart’, Swami’s conversations with His students are recorded.
In one conversation Swami asks hostel warden, “What was the food today? How do you give?” He guides them and tells how the food should cooked, how much to give etc. He looks after His students like a mother.
Swami looks after each and everyone like a mother and a father. He provides food for your body and soul. He shows you the right path as Guru and God. Should you talk about Him connecting Him in a worldly way? Is it this the respect you show to your Guru who has opened your eyes of wisdom? He is God! Learn to talk with fear and devotion. Don’t talk about Him as if He were your boyfriend! Don’t express lustful feelings towards God. Is this the correct way for an Indian woman to talk who has studied in Swami’s school? He is God! The Primal soul! Our touching Him or Him touching us should lead to Kaamadahana, the burning of lust. It is the touch of the soul. If depraved thoughts and strange imaginings arise in us, it is because of lust touch.
Lust touch is rust and dust.
Soul touch is best.
