Five states of a Sadhaka
A Jeeva goes through five states on his journey as a Sadhaka. In the beginning, Bhagavan observes the actions of the Jeeva and is the Saakshi or mere witness to whatever is happening to his body and mind. At this point, the Jeeva thinks that he is the doer of all his actions.
He lives according to the dictates of the mind. However, one day he starts to think about the real meaning of life. What is the true purpose of life? Why is it so? Is there any meaning to it? As the Jeeva begins to contemplate in this way, the Paramatma, which had remained a witness, comes to the aid of the awakening Jeeva. He gives encouragement when the Jeeva tries to do a good deed and prompts as the inner voice of conscience saying, “You are doing a good job, continue.” This state is known as Anumantha, where God gives His consent and approval to our actions. Thus Bhagavan, who was merely an onlooker in the beginning, gives His consent or permission. (cont...)
